Position Overview
A leading consumer goods manufacturer is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the creation and launch of innovative connected home devices. This role is hands-on and highly creative—focused on concept development, design iteration, prototyping, testing, and execution. You’ll drive new product ideas from sketch to shelf, collaborating closely with engineering teams, designers, and overseas factories to deliver exceptional consumer products.

The Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of product development experience in connected devices, consumer electronics, or smart home products

• Strong grasp of product design, prototyping, and feature integration (hardware + app)

• Familiar with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth functionality and testing requirements

• Experienced in sourcing and working with overseas manufacturers (China preferred)

• Creative problem-solver with excellent follow-through and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development: concepting, prototyping, design validation, and production handoff

• Translate market and consumer insights into product features and specifications

• Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure functionality, design, and user experience align

• Oversee vendor sampling, tooling, and production; ensure products meet performance and certification standards (FCC, CE, UL)

• Manage project timelines and communications with suppliers and internal teams

• Partner with marketing and logistics teams on launch readiness and continuous improvement

Qualifications and Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design, or related field preferred

• Proven track record in product development and launch of consumer electronics or connected devices

• Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to market release

• Skilled in international vendor communication and manufacturing processes

• Strong organization, communication, and creative problem-solving abilities

• Yiddish speaking highly preferred
