Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven R&D Innovation Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in executing new product development initiatives, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities while ensuring high-quality results. This position requires the ability to lead projects, own responsibilities from start to finish, and support team members to drive successful outcomes. This role calls for a quick learner with a technical mindset, someone who thrives in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Job Responsibilities
Lead product development lifecycle activities from concept to commercialization.
Effectively collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure execution of innovation projects.
Lead technical validation of products, including stability assessments, sensory benchmarking, and shelf-life testing, ensuring alignment with sensory, quality and regulatory standards.
Design and execute pilot trials, scale-ups, and production validations, translating benchtop formulations into commercially viable products while ensuring consistency, taste, and performance.
Identify and troubleshoot formulation and process challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Brand Marketing) to proactively resolve issues.
Manage multiple priorities to ensure timely, high-quality results, prioritizing resources to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality technical outcomes.
Travel as necessary to support and validate formula development, pilot trials, and production runs.
Document and maintain technical records, including formulas, processing parameters, testing protocols, and learnings from trial runs.
Stay current with food science innovations, ingredient technologies, and regulatory trends, applying emerging insights to strengthen formulation strategies and product differentiation.
Job Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Product Development, R&D, or Manufacturing in food and/or supplement industry; experience in bars, powders, snacks, or RTDs strongly preferred.
Proven experience in driving new product development from ideation to commercialization.
Ability to provide clear and timely communication of project progress, challenges, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Entrepreneurial, can-do mindset and willing to operate autonomously when required with a passion for innovation, continuous learning, and hands-on execution.
Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, shift priorities quickly, and take ownership of results.
Experience with product development formulation tools.
