    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

    The PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Business Process Owner is responsible for the global business processes and the software system to manage product data from concept to manufacturing to obsoletion. Product data includes technical and specification documentation, supplier information, Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing standard operating procedures and process parameters, and other relevant information. The PLM Business Process Owner is on the Food Safety and Quality team and works with R&D, Master Data, and manufacturing teams to centralize processes, workflows, and data into this solution to streamline collaboration and improve product development efficiency.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Data Management: * Establish a single source of truth for product development data, eliminating redundant or inconsistent data across different systems * Identify and maintain core data entities that are critical to maintain for product development * Implement processes and policies to manage and maintain data quality, accuracy, and consistency * Assign ownership for specific data entities to individuals or teams
    • Workflows and Integrations: * Design and manage workflows for cross-functional teams to manage product development and change management tasks in a defined, efficient, and streamlined process * Work closely with R&D and the Project Management Office team to align PLM workflows to service the overall project timeline for product launches * Develop monitoring procedures to ensure the integration between PLM and SAP is functioning correctly and efficiently- supporting PLM through the transition of SAP ECC to SAP S4 will be a key priority
    • Training, Support, and Auditing: * Develop training programs and content to ensure all users can effectively navigate software to retrieve product data and perform assigned tasks * Regularly review site usage metrics and user access/permissions * Work closely with FSQ Managers and other site leaders to develop programs and procedures to utilize PLM as primary product data source and regularly validate that products in production meet product standards defined in the PLM system
    • Reporting: * Build reports within PLM system in collaboration with cross-functional partners to service business needs in sharing and evaluating product data * Eliminate duplicate and/or manually updated outside product data sources through reporting capabilities within the system * Use reporting to facilitate KPI development and system auditing
    • Continuous Monitoring and Improvement: * Regularly monitor the performance of PLM business processes and adjust as needed to ensure its effectiveness * Engage core stakeholders in routine reviews of PLM business processes and product data; ensure all stakeholders are informed of any modifications to products and processes

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Field such as IT/Computer Sciences, Business, Engineering, Systems Management, or Food Science

    Required Experience:

    • Direct experience in leading PLM systems and business processes
    • ERP system experience, SAP/SAP S4 preferred

    Preferred:

    • More than 3 years of experience with PLM systems
    • Experience with data governance, master data, or IT-project management
    • Experience with product development including formulation, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation
    • Experience with collecting technical requirements and building or supporting an IT-based solution
    • Training users to access, utilize, and complete tasks within a software system
    • Working closely with software vendors
    • Project management experience- collaborating and working with cross-functional partners to achieve business objectives on a timeline
    • PLM experience at a food/consumer packaged good company

    REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    • Strong attention to detail and high expectations for data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
    • High degree of analytical skills- able to think critically to work through challenges and identify the best solutions, able to analyze data to identify trends and insights, and pay attention to details and notice patterns
    • Passion for training others at various skill levels and varied familiarity with technology
    • Must work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively with all levels of management and Team Members, other departments, and vendors
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in Internet navigation; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

However, the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office. Travel may be required.

    Additional Information

    The pay range for this role is $98,880 - $135,960 (Annual). Actual wage will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards.
