    The Position: Product Management Intern

    The Product Management Intern will support HydraPak’s product development team through market research, product line management, and merchandising. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world innovation in hydration gear by contributing to both consumer and competitor research as well as the product line building and merchandising plans for specific product collections. Interns will gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle and collaborate closely with experienced designers and product developers. This role is ideal for a curious, detail-oriented, and passionate candidate eager to apply classroom knowledge and prior work experience in a fast-paced, outdoor-focused company. This role may also lead to a full time Associate Product Manager role with HydraPak.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    PRIMARY:

    • Will manage assigned collections of the product line both in terms of new & carry over product
    • Will conduct both consumer/user/athlete and competitor research in assigned market/product segments
    • Will collaborate with design, development, and engineering teams on new product creation for assigned collections
    • Assist in the documentation and tracking of new product development projects

    ADDITIONAL:

    • Other duties, general administrative support, and special projects as assigned.

    Experience and Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • HS Diploma or Equivalent
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
    • Masters degree (in progress) in sports product or related field required
    • Masters degree (completed) in sports product or related field preferred
    • Prior experience in retail product sales preferred

    • Intellectually curious and interested in learning even the smallest details about our systems
    • Critical thinking: you do the research, pull out key information, and propose solutions or next steps to finding them
    • Good judgment: you are thorough and decisive.
    • Ready to provide support to the entire team when they are in need. We are a small organization and we all have to be flexible and willing to pitch in.
    • Written communication: you write clearly, succinctly, and with correct grammar.
    • Organized: you are reliably organized and manage a full plate without significant signs of stress.

    Salary & Benefits:

    This is a part-time internship based in our Oakland, CA office. Pay range for this position is $30.00-34.00 hourly.
