Product Manager – Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
This role will oversee the full product lifecycle, from roadmap planning and new product introductions through migration and end-of-life, with a focus on the North American industrial automation market.
The Product Manager will serve as the primary champion for the product line, both internally and externally, working closely with sales, applications, engineering, and channel partners. Responsibilities include market analysis, competitive positioning, go-to-market planning, pricing strategy, and partner ecosystem development. This position requires strong commercial judgment, technical knowledge of VFDs and their applications, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute product strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Identify and penetrate target markets, verticals, and customer segments.
- Lead regional roadmap development and growth initiatives.
- Drive new product introductions, pricing models, and inventory management.
- Conduct market research, voice-of-customer studies, and competitor analysis.
- Create sales enablement tools, playbooks, and training materials.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and standards organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of product management experience in VFDs or related motor control systems.
- Hands-on technical background in designing, installing, programming, or testing AC motor drive systems.
- Familiarity with industrial automation sectors such as HVAC, oil & gas, water/wastewater, food & beverage, packaging, and material handling.
- Strong analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.
