Job Summary – Sales Associate (Wine & Liquor Specialist)
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Sales Associate with expertise in wine and spirits to join our team at Stowe Beverage. In this role, you will assist customers in selecting products, provide recommendations based on taste and occasion, restock shelves, and ensure the store remains clean and organized.
You should have a strong understanding of wine varietals, liquor brands, and current trends in the beverage industry. Excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers with purchases and recommendations
Maintain product knowledge on wines, liquors, and new arrivals
Restock shelves and manage inventory levels
Handle transactions at the register accurately
Ensure compliance with state alcohol regulations (must be 21+)
Maintain a clean, organized sales floor
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a liquor store or wine retail environment preferred
Strong product knowledge of wines, spirits, and beer
Friendly and professional demeanor
Ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Must be 21 years of age or older
Responsibilities
Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping
Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
Collect payments by cash and credit card
Issue receipts and refunds to customers
Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.
Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
Willingness to work well in a team environment
Ability to quickly and accurately work a register
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
