    Adams, Inc. is seeking a Production Manager to oversee our home backup generators division in Elkhorn, WI.

    As a leader in power solutions including home backup power, solar power, electrical contracting, HVAC, and plumbing, we are looking for the right candidate who will bring solutions, a positive attitude, and strong leadership to our team of Generator Technicians and Electricians.

    Adams, Inc. has been in business for over 35-years, with five locations in Wisconsin and one in Illinois. We are looking for an operational leader who does not mind working in the field on installation and service calls as well as overseeing all administrative aspects of the role.

    As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for driving the day-to-day production of generator installations and service. You must have a passion for operations and standby power, with a strong focus on logistics, efficiency, and quality. While this is a hands-on role requiring occasional field work for service and installation, it also involves frequent customer interaction, quoting, and data analysis. You will operate both in an office environment as well as working in the field to support your team, solve problems in real time, and ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. You will lead the location’s weekly production meetings and participate in division-wide L10 meetings either virtually or in person.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Oversee all hiring needs for the location

    Manage the day-to-day operations of installation, service, and team scheduling, including morning mobilization

    Own installation quality and timeliness

    Address installation questions from the sales team

    Collaborate with install teams to ensure project clarity and execution strategy

    Review project photos and pre-job details

    Verify inspection compliance and photo documentation for every install

    Quote and scope Commercial & Industrial (C&I) generator installations, including materials and labor

    Assist and lead installation or service work in the field as needed

    Train and support the technical development of installation and service technicians

    Manage onboarding and continuing education, including Generac Dealer Training in coordination with HR

    Enforce OSHA safety standards and the Adams safety plan

    Conduct monthly one-on-ones with all field team members and support their personal and professional growth

    Lead forecasting efforts for location production capacity and labor planning

    Conduct interviews and make hiring recommendations for the production team

    Contribute to the development of the annual Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO) and set quarterly rocks

    Manage customer experience for the location, including escalations and building long-term client relationships

    Troubleshoot all generator types including air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and Protector Plus units

    Track and review job tickets for service and install jobs, ensuring accuracy and profitability

    Facilitate location-specific 'Start / Stop / Continue' performance reviews as needed

    Own the warranty process including claim submission, part management, and tracking returns

    Oversee inventory control for all service and install parts and consumables

    Manage fleet and equipment maintenance schedules for vehicles, trailers, and tools

    Marginal Job Functions / Secondary Responsibilities

    Maintain an on-call/emergency call-out procedure

    Provide sales and engineering support for liquid-cooled and Protector Plus systems

    Promote and grow commercial service programs, including preventative maintenance agreements with municipalities sanitation districts, and industrial clients

    Participate in trade shows and marketing events as needed

    Education and Experience

    Journeyman-level electrical knowledge required

    Experience quoting and managing Commercial & Industrial generator projects

    Minimum five years of leadership experience in the construction or electrical field

    Electrical licensure required

    Formal training or demonstrated experience in customer relations and project management

    Minimum Education & License Requirements

    HS Diploma or equivalent

    Must have, or obtain, Residential Journeyman, Journeyman, or Master Electrician License (Wisconsin) within six months of employment (if not licensed, must have the required number of DWD approved hours to obtain license).

    OSHA 30 required within six months of employment

    Experience Requirements:

    Five (5) years' experience in residential or commercial electrical work

    Experience with home backup power generators

    Generac Certifications as necessary.

    Knowledge and experience equivalent to journeymen electrician job skills

    Ten (10) years’ experience of managing and leading in construction or similar industry.

    Good and effective communication skills

    Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner

    Schedule:

    The schedule for this role is primarily Monday – Friday, day-time hours. Later hours and weekends may be required depending on our workload and the needs/schedules of our customers/clients.

    Physical Requirements:

    This position requires consistent heavy lifting of up to 75 pounds, in addition to possibly climbing onto roofs and/or tall buildings as well as attics and crawl spaces. Additionally, you may be required to dig/trench outside in increment weather as needed for projects. All safety measures will be taken and proper PPE (personal protective equipment) will be used in accordance with OSHA standards.

    Pay & Compensation: Adams, Inc. offers a pay range of $90,000 - $110,000 per year plus performance bonuses. The pay range is based on relevant experience related to installing Generac Home Backup Power Systems. Relatable experience will be considered but not guaranteed to be at the high range, however, progressive pay increases and bonuses will be given for performance.
