Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and oversee the Assembly Department. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in mechanical assembly, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production operations, including machining, fabrication, and assembly of hole cutting tools and mag drill components
- Lead and manage the Assembly Department, ensuring efficient workflow, quality standards, and safety compliance
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines
- Monitor KPIs such as throughput, yield, downtime, and labor efficiency; drive corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve product design for manufacturability
- Train, mentor, and supervise production and assembly staff; foster a culture of accountability and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; promote a clean and organized work environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis
Qualifications
- Proven experience in production management, preferably in metalworking or industrial tool manufacturing
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes and component integration
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems, production planning tools, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality control systems
- Degree in the following fields:
- Operations Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Manufacturing Engineering
- equivalent Manufacturing experience considered
