Job Description

As the Production Manager for our food processing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our pizza dough and bread production operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the Production team to ensure efficient and high-quality output of pizza dough and bread products.
• Maximize production yield while minimizing waste to optimize resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
• Enforce and maintain strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all team members and compliance with industry standards.
• Adapt to and manage the demands of a fast-paced production environment.
• Develop and implement production goals based on customer needs and market demands.
• Analyze production metrics, investigate discrepancies, and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
• Complete and manage daily production reports, financial data, and team schedules.
• Liaise with vendors and report operational data to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain a safe and positive work environment in compliance with OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.
• Oversee dough consistency and maintain detailed records to address quality issues in the market.
• Manage inventory and order production supplies, including flour and sanitation materials.
• Conduct regular inspections of the production area and coordinate with maintenance for necessary repairs or modifications.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency while prioritizing team safety and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve company-wide objectives.
• Conduct dough management training for franchisees to ensure consistent quality across locations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Oversee the recruitment and training of new production team members.
• Conduct regular Gemba walks to maintain a hands-on approach to production management.

This role requires a dedicated professional who can effectively manage all aspects of production while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse management required. For level 2, 3 & 4 facilities, some college plus equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 3-5 years of production, manufacturing, or retail experience, with strong knowledge of bakery procedures and baking practices preferred.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience required.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• AIB practices knowledge or certification preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead team members effectively.
• Strong results-oriented approach with excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of quality control and safety protocols in food production environments.

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to support a 24-hour operation.
• Must pass a background check every three years.
• Availability to travel as required by the position.
• Bilingual skills are advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 10-12 hours.
• Capable of navigating warehouse environments efficiently.
• Must be able to safely access all areas of the building, including using ladders, stairs, and gangways.
• Physical capability to bend, lift, stretch, and reach as required by the job.
• Ability to lift and move totes weighing up to 49 pounds.
• Willingness to work in extreme temperatures (33-38 degrees) and loud environments.
