  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant production and ensuring the quality standards are met and monthly production goals are achieved.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Direct, coordinate, and oversee daily production operations to ensure product quality and meet monthly production goals.
    • Supervise and schedule staff, including work assignments/rotations, employee training, PTO management, overtime allocation, and coverage for absent employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Collect, analyze, and report production data weekly, monthly, and annually to the Plant Manager.
    • Develop, write, and maintain documentation, such as work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other relevant production materials.
    • Recommend capital improvements and process enhancements when necessary.
    • Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.
    • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to resolve production-related issues at the facility.
    • Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure timely repairs and a proper inventory of spare parts.
    • Enter and approve service requests for maintenance support as needed.
    • Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, discharges, and corrective/attendance counseling.
    • Assist the Plant Manager and HR in resolving personnel issues, complaints, or grievances.
    • Accurately report findings to relevant personnel and complete necessary documentation.
    • Conduct performance reviews for staff and provide constructive feedback.
    • Counsel and train staff on work-related issues and assist in correcting job-skill deficiencies.
    • Foster team development by promoting mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
    • Enforce Company, MSHA safety regulations and guidelines strictly.
    • Regularly inspect work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure safety and provide employee safety training.
    • Assist with miscellaneous production tasks (e.g., housekeeping, basic labor tasks) as directed by the Plant Manager.
    • Work in a physically demanding environment.
    • Some travel to other plant locations within the United States may be required.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required - OR - an equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, mining, or aggregate environments.
    • Experience in plant operations.
    • At least 3 years of management experience with a proven record of managing multiple people and projects while maintaining high levels of production.
  • Compensation
    $120,000-$140,000 per year
