Reports to the General Manager. Executes portion of the strategic plan to align manufacturing operations with organizational goals and objectives. Has responsibility of all facets of the manufacturing project portfolio and specifically for each project. Expectations include meeting and exceeding customer and leadership expectations through oversite of
the entire fabrication, assembly, and production management facility.

Responsibilities and Impact
Production Management – Manage all facets of production including project management (labor resource allocation, project scheduling, labor budgets; on-time materials acquisition; multi-phased manufacturing; assembly; quality control; shipping; personnel management; health, safety, and regulatory compliance.)
Supply Chain Management – Ensure materials are ordered with no stock-outs that would be disruptive to labor and fabrication schedules. Ensure shipping dates meet customer expectations for delivery per project agreements.
Budgets – Manage labor efficiency budget for each project in portfolio. Take corrective action in advance. Manage labor hours per project and for the entire project portfolio. Ensure shipping dates meet customer expectations for delivery per project agreements.
Personnel Management – Manage the daily activities of shop personnel and other direct reports ensuring efficient use of labor resources while meeting agreed upon delivery dates.
Continuous Improvement – Drive operational efficiency and cost effectiveness by implementing best practices and new and innovative solutions. Recommend, then implement opportunities to improve labor efficiency, quality control, and meeting expectations of leadership and customer expectations.
Health, Safety, Regulatory Compliance – Ensure facility fabrication operations are carried out in a safe manner and are in line with regulatory guidelines.

\- Meet and exceed customer agreed upon expectations (functionality, quality, delivery time)
\- Accommodate unexpected labor requirements in the ‘field’.
\- Manage both the project portfolio as well as individual project budgets.
Deliverables
Proactively learn the Heat Treat industry during first six months, then participate in formal Heat Treat Industry Training.
Document opportunities for “continuous improvement” in manufacturing processes.
Staging of Materials Planning (no stock outs) based on Engineering materials listing and delivery date.
Prepare Materials Purchase Approvals in line with budget and scheduled hours.
Prepare weekly/monthly labor allocation schedule for all projects based on ‘available’ labor, taking in to consideration vacations, holidays, and ‘field service demands’.
Monitor and approve quality of fabrication and engineering specifications at each stage prior to shipment.
Coordinate shipping with shipping department proactively meeting delivery dates.
Create agenda with recommendations for improvement for weekly production meeting with leadership.
Prepare weekly production report for labor hours and materials purchases.
Recommend and implement corrective action to bring actual fabrication labor hours inline with quote/budget for each project and the project portfolio overall.
Monitor Inventories and reporting of WIP.
Prepare project plans with budgeted labor allocated for each stage of project manufacturing, and portfolio total.
Monitor, document, and maintain compliance with OSHA requirements on shop floor.
Lead process to train, develop, hire, redeploy Shop and Field technicians.
Conduct routine staff reviews through formal review process and constructive real-time feedback.
Manage employee retention longevity.
Conduct formal documented findings of daily Shop Walk-about (2x, 1 in a.m.; 1 in p.m.)
Co-manage operations with Engineering Manager in absence of GM or Dir. of Operations.
Qualifications
Education – Prefer Bachelors Degree in Engineering, will accept Associates Degree.
