    The Production Manager leads all aspects of field operations, ensuring that tree care services are executed safely, efficiently, and at a high level of quality. This role supervises crews, manages scheduling and logistics, drives safety and compliance, oversees fleet and facility readiness, and contributes to profitability by improving job efficiency and execution. The Production Manager serves as a key communicator across departments, ensuring field alignment with sales, customer service, and operations.

    Key Responsibilities (5 Major Roles)

    1. Lead, Manage, and Hold Field Teams Accountable (LMA)

    Supervise tree care and enhancement crews, ensuring alignment with company standards.

    Hire, train, evaluate, and develop field staff to maintain a skilled, safe, and efficient workforce.

    Provide daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback to crew leaders and crew members.

    Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

    Communicate clearly, thoroughly, and effectively with Sales, PHC, CSR, and Ops to ensure alignment and prevent confusion.

    1. Own Job Scheduling, Logistics, and Execution

    Develop and manage daily and weekly job schedules across crews and service types.

    Ensure proper resource allocation — matching crew skills, equipment, and workload to each project.

    Coordinate with Sales, PHC, and CSR teams to align job timing with client expectations.

    Ensure timely job completion with minimal downtime, delays, or unproductive time.

    1. Enforce Safety and Regulatory Compliance

    Conduct regular safety meetings, seasonal training, and jobsite inspections.

    Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to protect crew members and the public.

    Take proactive steps to prevent accidents by identifying unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and behavioral patterns that increase risk.

    Respond to incidents and near-misses with investigations and corrective action plans.

    Ensure compliance with ANSI Z133, OSHA, and company-specific safety standards.

    1. Drive Field Efficiency, Quality, and Process Improvement

    Monitor job progress, labor hours, and materials used to stay within budget and improve margins.

    Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement improvements to boost productivity and reduce waste.

    Ensure job quality meets or exceeds standards through site visits and follow-ups.

    Continuously refine SOPs and crew workflows to support scalability and quality control.

    1. Oversee Equipment, Fleet, and Facility Readiness

    Manage the maintenance, inspection, and repair of all vehicles, tools, and climbing gear.

    Coordinate with mechanics and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.

    Maintain clean, organized, and secure shop, yard, and facility spaces.

    Oversees fuel inventory, equipment check-outs, materials inventory, and chip dump management

    Requirements

    3–5+ years of tree care or related field operations experience.

    Prior crew leadership or production management experience required.

    Strong knowledge of industry standards and safety protocols (ANSI Z133, OSHA).

    Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Proficiency with scheduling and job tracking software (e.g., SingleOps a plus).

    CDL or ability to obtain preferred.

    ISA Certified Arborist a plus.
