    Production Manager Job Description

    Title: Production Manager

    Shift: 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday

    Salary: Competitive salary, bonus potential.

     

    Who we are:

    Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of youth transportation products, located in West Union OH. We are a non-union facility with 15-25 production employees on the floor, and we are hiring for this role as part of an ongoing search for the best long-term fit.

    Production Manager Role:

    The Production Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the manufacturing job production schedule to achieve on-time customer deliveries. This role exists to take the lead on facility culture and ensure production goals are met in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Production Manager Responsibilities:

    • Create and manage production schedules to achieve a high rate of on-time customer order delivery

    • Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, contracts, and shipping personnel to keep jobs moving on schedule

    • Identify bottlenecks and recommend effective solutions before they occur

    • Provide a variety of tasks to expedite jobs as required to meet delivery deadlines

    • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all team members to prioritize, expedite, and balance workload across all departments

    • Take the lead on facility culture and cut through conflict demonstrating fairness and a strong sense of authority

    Production Manager Reporting Relationships:

    The Production Manager reports directly to the President of the company. The position will have 17 to 24 direct reports of production employees, with one current lead potentially filling a supervisor role.

     

    About You:

    • Demonstrate strong initiative and act as a self-starter who can effectively prioritize

    • Apply problem-solving skills to successfully overcome production issues

    • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced work environment

    • Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication techniques in a team environment

    • Possess the ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities

    • Communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and written

    • Follow both verbal and written instructions in English

    • Have prior experience as a production coordinator or in a related role in production

    • The facility is climate controlled.

    • Voluntary overtime may be an option at times, but overtime is typically not required.
