Position Overview
The Production & Materials Planner supports production planning, raw-material readiness, demand translation, and inventory analytics. The role ensures accurate data flow, reliable material supply, and clear visibility into planning constraints. This position builds planning discipline, drives analytical rigor, and supports operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning Support
Translate forecasts and sales orders into production planning requirements.
Prepare detailed daily/weekly planning schedules for review.
Track variances and identify root causes for schedule disruptions.
Support capacity modeling and future planning scenarios.
Material Planning & Availability
Maintain material requirements plans (MRP) for all raw materials and purchased goods.
Monitor material consumption, supplier lead times, and reorder triggers.
Identify risks early and support Procurement to expedite or adjust orders.
Validate BOM structures, yields, and scrap assumptions.
Inventory Analysis & Reporting
Prepare inventory dashboards, KPIs, and analytical reports.
Analyze slow-moving, aged, and excess inventory trends.
Support cycle count variance analysis and corrective actions.
Provide data-driven insights for inventory reduction initiatives.
ERP & Planning System Management
Maintain accurate planning parameters in the ERP system.
Ensure correct inputs for lead times, lot sizes, and planning horizons.
Improve data accuracy through audits and system optimization.
Cross-Functional Support
Partner with Operations to clarify priorities and sequence planning.
Support Quality with traceability data and material reporting.
Collaborate with Engineering on BOM changes and production routings.
Process Improvement
Identify gaps in planning workflows and recommend improvements.
Develop tools, trackers, and templates for more efficient planning processes.
Participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Operations, or similar.
2–5 years in planning, scheduling, or materials analysis.
Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel/ERP experience.
Communicate requirements across technical teams.
SAP (ERP System) knowledge can be a plus.
