The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating manufacturing activities across multiple production stations to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant production of hemp products. This role plays a critical part in aligning production capacity with demand, managing workflow, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can shift.
Develop and maintain production schedules across multiple manufacturing and packaging stations
Coordinate daily and weekly production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address bottlenecks, delays, or material shortages
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, compliance, and inventory teams
Ensure production plans align with hemp regulatory and compliance requirements
Track work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and raw material usage
Communicate production priorities clearly to operators and supervisors
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and throughput
Maintain accurate production records and planning documentation
Support new product launches by assisting with production readiness and scheduling
1+ year of experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, or scheduling
Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (CPG, food, supplements, cannabis/hemp preferred)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple production stations and shifting priorities
Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic production tracking tools
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
Experience in hemp, cannabis, nutraceutical, or food manufacturing
Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and quality control processes
Experience with inventory management or ERP systems
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
Ability to analyze production data and recommend improvements
Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 per year (salaried, exempt)
Work Schedule: 40–50 hours per week
