    This position will be located at Ventek Solution's Shelbyville, KY plant and report to the plant supervisor.

    Production planner/scheduler is responsible for creating schedules for all production lines EPP in the Ventek Shelbyville plant. Working with production management to determine appropriate production days and times, the production scheduler will consider many factors such as equipment specifications, customer demand and raw material availability. Continually striving to improve efficiency, the schedulers participate in weekly meetings with plant production manager and supervisors to identify opportunities. Most tasks involve keeping and updating records and information. It is the job of the production scheduler to ensure smooth operations throughout the production and distribution life of Ventek products.

    The essential functions of the position include:

    • The safety and health of employees take precedence over all duties of this job.
    • Utilize ERP to view material movement; quantities on order and current balance on hand to ensure materials needed by the production team are on hand.
    • Review order requests submitted by Customer Service and provided ship dates.
    • Utilize ERP to receive all raw materials and other supplies.
    • Responsible for performing, tracking, and reporting daily cycle counts of all finished goods inventory.
    • Includes monitoring production rates and checking inventories.
    • Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
    • Confers with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
    • Other duties as required.
    • Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
    • Ability to frequently bend, stand, stoop and grasp.
    • Ability to manipulate small parts on a consistent basis.

    Qualifications:

    • HS diploma/GED/College Degree
    • Experience in manufacturing, production management, production planning
    • Computer skills using Microsoft Office required; demonstrated proficiency with Strong Excel (including charts); Word etc.
    • Knowledge of ERP forecasting, planning, production scheduling, and shipping functionality and processes desired
    • Knowledge of forecasting, planning, inventory management, and production scheduling principles desired
    • Ability to multi-task is critical
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
    • Excellent Ventek job performance to including attendance is critical

    Work Environment:

Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.
