  • Responsibilities

    **Lead the production planning team to ensure timely production and on time delivery while maintaining inventory levels **

    • Monitor inventory levels and product demand in order to produce production schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods
      • Inventory Target: 6/8 weeks
      • Shipping performance of 98% dozens on time
    • Issue knitting schedule on a monthly basis and submit revisions as necessary based on sales and forecast fluctuations
      • Machine changes should be held to a minimum but product availability and inventory control is the number 1 priority
    • Work closely with facility planners to communicate production schedules and to prioritize production
    • Communicate directly with Smartwool for deliveries and due dates
    • Work with yarn and packaging teams on availability and advise any potential delays
    • Perform order collaboration functions in Smartwool’s order system
    • Monitor work in process inventory
    • Coordinate product flow and work with all departments to facilitate product movements within the facility
    • Publish weekly work schedule for facility based on inventory levels and product needs
    • Monitor close-out and rework activities as needed
    • Analyze forecast for accuracy
    • Act as the point person for Bi-Annual physical inventory
    • Coordinate all activities related to product

    Required Skills

    • Must be able to manage a complex production environment, incorporating a few hundred styles and 1000+ sku’s.
    • Computer skills.
    • Microsoft suite specifically Excel
    • Good communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to adapt to different systems

    Required Experience

    • High School and some college helpful. 3 to 5 years experience preferred
    • Computer use, telephone use, strong verbal skills, ability to read, write and entry figures.
    • Ability to type, ability to learn, good command of language, attention to detail.
