  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    To ensure that the production floor has the proper material, paperwork, and manning plan to meet the master production schedule.

    ** Duties & Responsibilities**

    • Schedules and plans work to ensure that required material is available when needed
    • Checks in-process inventory to schedule machinery and alters as necessary
    • Reviews daily production to analyze progress and take corrective action as needed to meet customer requirements and remain cost-effective
    • Works as part of a team and confers with Value Stream Managers to determine the status of assigned projects
    • Coordinates wire substitutions with the Quality Department
    • Participates in manufacturing meetings with relevant management personnel to identify and resolve current plant issues
    • Maintains, changes, and updates information required in the ERP system (enterprise resource planning) about production
    • Advises supervisors and management of machine manning requirements to meet delivery goals
    • Keeps supervisors and other management personnel informed of all schedule changes on their area
    • Communicates with plant personnel and reviews manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost
    • Coordinates changes in scheduled production with other departments to ensure changes are made correctly
    • Consistently works scheduled onsite shift with regular attendance and punctuality; availability for on-call duties as needed

    ** Required Qualifications**

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
    • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
    • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
    • Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative
    • Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Preferred Qualifications**

    • 1+ year(s) of manufacturing and/or rope manufacturing process experience
    • Established project management skills
    • Experience with ERP systems, JD Edwards preferred
    • Experience in areas related to machine limitations, lead times, ERP systems, production, and planning and scheduling functions based on both efficiency and labor.
    • Experience with Kanban ordering system, FIFO, and Value Stream Mapping

    ** Physical Requirements & Working Conditions**

    • Combination office/production floor environment.
    • Pushing/pulling, lifting up to 10 lbs.

    Materials and Equipment Directly Used

    • Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes
    • Strand and Wire rope of various diameters and lengths, on reels or in coils, empty or unassembled reels, paper lagging strips, tags, seizing wire, blocking, thimbles.
    • Rewinding machines, stanchions, shafts, collars, bushings, rope cutters, measuring devices, fork trucks, banding equipment, welders, and various hand tools.

    Eligibility

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
    • An applicant must complete a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment. A criminal conviction will not be an automatic bar to employment.
    • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical (if required)
