    Job Summary

    The Cables Factory / Side-Line Rugged is responsible for performing a wide range of cable assembly, wiring, testing, and packaging duties across multiple production areas. This position is cross-trained to support various departments based on workflow needs and is essential to maintaining on-time delivery, quality standards, and operational efficiency. The Employee must follow established work instructions, adhere to safety standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform wiring, component installation, board installation, and cable harnessing according to established work instructions and processes.
    • Float between production lines, including Sideline / Rugged
    • cable operations, side-line assembly, and other departments as required by workflow demands.
    • Use provided materials, tools, and the ERP system (CORE) to complete daily operational and documentation tasks.
    • Test cables for proper functionality and perform retesting as needed to meet product specifications.
    • Verify that all cables and components are correctly labeled, identified, counted, and matched to required part numbers.
    • Apply correct packaging codes and ensure that all labels are accurately placed, legible, and undamaged.
    • Input pins, connectors, and other components according to assembly process requirements.
    • Inspect work at all stages to maintain product quality and compliance with company standards.
    • Complete all assigned tasks within established takt times to support efficient production flow.
    • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA safety regulations at all times.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in every department served.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • Experience in cable assembly or manufacturing preferred but not required; training provided.
    • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, diagrams, and schematics.
    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
    • Basic computer skills and ability to operate ERP systems.

    • Ability to stand, sit, reach, or perform repetitive hand movements for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs as needed.
    • Manual dexterity required for pin insertion, wiring, and component handling.
    • Visual requirements include close vision, color differentiation, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment

    • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to tools, machinery, and materials associated with cable assembly.
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
