    Production Supervisor / Lead — Sterling Technologies Inc., Michigan

    About the Role Hands-on floor leader directing daily wire harness, cable assembly, control panel, and electromechanical production. You'll be the link between the floor and management — owning quality, safety, throughput, and delivery targets while coaching and developing your team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Direct daily production activities; assign and adjust work in real time to hit schedule targets

    Conduct shift start-up meetings, Gemba walks, and monitor output against daily/weekly goals

    Enforce IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards; perform first-article and in-process inspections

    Identify and disposition non-conforming product; initiate CARs and support root cause analysis

    Train operators, assess skill gaps, coordinate cross-training, and complete performance evaluations

    Enforce OSHA and company safety policies; lead 5S audits and investigate incidents

    Coordinate material staging, escalate shortages, maintain WIP accuracy, and support cycle counts

    Lead kaizen events and Lean initiatives; track and present key production metrics

    Required Qualifications

    3+ years in wire harness, cable assembly, or electromechanical assembly (OEM environment)

    1+ year in a lead or supervisory role with direct responsibility for output and personnel

    Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620; ability to read drawings, travelers, and BOMs

    Experience with continuity, hipot, and resistance testing

    Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication skills

    Able to manage priorities in a high-mix / low-to-medium volume environment

    Preferred

    IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS or CIT certification

    Lean tools (5S, kaizen, standard work, VSM); ERP/MRP experience

    AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or ISO 13485 familiarity

    MIL-SPEC harness experience; aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical background

    Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

    Education: High school diploma/GED required; technical degree or certificate preferred.

    Physical: Stand/walk 8–10 hrs; lift up to 35 lbs; close visual inspection required.
