  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Technician 2 will be responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of Lehr through inspection equipment. The responsibilities of a Technician 2 build upon what is expected of a Technician 1

    ** Safety Leadership**

    • Ensuring Personal safety and for All Team Mates and people on site and across the operations

    ** Maintenance and Operation Requirements**

    • Mechanical or Electrical Background
    • Knowledge of Conveyor and packaging lines is preferred.
    • Mobile Equipment Operation – ability to operate Hoist and Forklift operation (On site Training)
    • Inspection equipment setup, job change, and operation, including troubleshooting and data analysis
    • Mechanical Job change and set up for packaging equipment, including palletizer, carton, case packer, and stretch wrapper
    • Basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for Inspection and packaging equipment, including palletizer, carton, case packer, stretch wrapper, and inject coder
    • Additional equipment maintenance tasks, including changing cameras and hard drives
    • Overall line observation and reporting

    ** Quality Control Requirements**

    • Perform Glass Quality checks, Ware testing, including challenge sample testing, fingernail tests, packed ware tests, held ware tests, glass quality tests

    • Interpretation, set up, and validation of inspection data

    • Set up of lehr curves and annealing checks

    • Coating surface treatment set up, equipment reading and checks (atomization and temperature)

    • Daily cleaning & 5S

    ** Physical Requirements**

    • Lift or carry up to 50lbs on a regular basis
    • Walking long distances between Inspection and Packaging equipment
    • Ability to climb Stairs and walk on elevated floor platforms.
    • Bend, stretch, twist or reach out
    • Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for prolonged periods of time, up to 12 hours per day
    • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment

    Qualifications

    About You:

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Mechanical or Electrical trade certificate or technical degree preferred
    • 3-4 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred
    • Ability to set-up and operate equipment
    • Familiarity with high speed industrial production/Conveyor packaging lines
    • Effective communication
    • Basic computer knowledge to include experience with MS Office or similar desktop related applications
    • Ability to work to a shift schedule (day and night shift, 12 hours)

    Wages:

    • Pay range will be $30.19 per hour plus overtime and performance-based incentives for all teammates.
