FinTrust Connect has partnered with a growing and forward-thinking property & casualty insurer to identify a Production Underwriter responsible for driving new business and profitable growth across their Small Commercial BOP portfolio. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on building agency relationships, identifying market opportunities, and bringing underwriting strategy to life in the field.

Visibility: This role serves as the face of the underwriting teamworking cross-functionally with Distribution, Product, and Agency partners to drive targeted growth.
Workplace (Hybrid): Based in St. Petersburg, FL , with hybrid flexibility. Regular in-office presence is required for collaboration, training, and team engagement.
Function: Underwrite, negotiate, and produce new and renewal small commercial BOP accounts while actively engaging independent agencies in your territory to promote appetite and drive production.

Leverage underwriting tools, analytics, and market intel to guide decision-making and negotiation strategy
Provide real-time feedback to agency partners and improve overall underwriting efficiency
Monitor agency performance and recommend strategies to improve alignment with underwriting goals
Review inspections and adjust underwriting actions accordingly to manage risk and improve account quality
Identify product or process gaps and partner with Product Managers to recommend enhancements
Process new business, renewals, endorsements, and inspections accurately and efficiently
Stay current on underwriting guidelines, market conditions, competitor activity, and regulatory developments
Contribute to a high-performance culture by sharing insights, supporting team members, and mentoring when appropriate
** Requirements:**
Bachelor's degree in a related field
3+ years of commercial BOP underwriting experience (required)
5-7 years of total P &C experience preferred, with a focus on small commercial or package business
Track record of success in a production underwriting role with agency-facing experience
Deep understanding of risk assessment, pricing strategy, and underwriting profitability metrics
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong agency development background, including field visits and new business planning
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with underwriting systems and analytics tools
Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, or AU are a plus
