Job Summary
As Production and Design Manager, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of signage projects, from initial graphic design to final fabrication and sometimes installation. This role is a hands-on leadership position that requires a unique blend of creative expertise and technical proficiency in operating large-format printers, vinyl cutters, and RIP software. The manager ensures all output meets strict quality standards and branding guidelines while maintaining an efficient, safe, and cost-effective shop environment.
Responsibilities
Overseeing production and design of signs
Operating HP Latex printers, Graphtec plotters and Royal Sovereign laminators
Producing signs
Designing and Proofing signs
Managing computer and art files
Working with our Project Managers, Customers and Partner Firms
Maintaining company signage equipment
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of manufacturing/production area
Qualifications
3-5+ years of experience in the sign industry
Knowledge of vinyl creation, application, and large-format digital printing (experience with HP printers and ONYX RIP software is a plus but not required)
Strong computer and file management skills, particularly with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Familiarity with sign industry software like Corebridge or Cyrious is a bonus
Proven ability to meet deadlines consistently
Exceptional attention to detail and strong multi-tasking abilities
Clear communication skills are a must
Excellent people skills—you’ll be interacting with both customers and vendors in a fast-paced team environment
Basic math skills
Drivers’ license and a dependable vehicle required.
While this role includes some graphic design responsibilities, it's key that you also have experience in sign manufacturing. If you’re strictly a graphic designer without experience in sign production, this role will not be the right fit.
