  • Responsibilities

    Senior Systems Integration Engineer will provide support and leadership for integration efforts of existing capabilities sets of distinct subsystems. The capabilities of various subsystems will be assessed to ensure that the integration optimizes the integrated capabilities. He/she will also oversee the technical aspects of all assigned projects from award to system acceptance.

    Specific Duties:

    • Participate in requirements-gathering efforts and support validation/tracking of the requirements

    • Produce system design documentation based on requirements with a view to a standards-based Open architecture and vendor-agnostic architecture.

    • Develop integration and test processes and policies to accomplish integration and test activities.

    • Provide Estimates of Effort for all integration engineering activities and endeavor to support the Master schedule.

    • Identify the appropriate sequence and scheduling of integration efforts for Public Safety IT subsystems

    • Determine the external interfaces requirements necessary for design and guide the integration and testing during the NG911 and CAD Implementation

    • Assist in the coordination with project leads and subcontractors to identify and review all required Interfaces with the NG911 and CAD systems

    • Identify system-level use cases and test cases targeted at interface validation, as well as assist the SDE team, project leads, and subcontractors in setting up and testing the interfaces in the SDE

    • Verify all interfaces in the production environment and subsequently augment the Test team to perform all end to end System Integration Testing

    • Provide guidance/mentor more junior members of the team on VOIP technology

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with distributed-system architectures for federated software (cloud, co-located or hybrid-cloud environments) and both physical and virtual networks.

    Experience/Deep Knowledge with any of the following:

    • SIP, Session Border Controllers, VoIP Communication, Cyber Security, ATO Processes, RF/Cell Technology, Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, MPLS, and general network theory

    • Good familiarity with Mass Warning System, NextGen911 (NG911), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)

    • Ability to engage and lead customer-focused meetings.

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.

    Basic Skill/Education Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or related field preferred)

    • 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Systems Integration experience
