    Job Description

    Professional Search Group (PSG) is seeking a Training and Development Coordinator within the Grocery/ Restaurant Industry. The Training and Development Coordinator develops, adapts, edits, and maintains culturally relevant and academically appropriate curriculum to support the strategic Training and Development plan. This includes the development and design of training materials, course outlines, and progress reports for the production departments (Bakery, Meat, Produce, Grocery, etc.), as well as directly supervising the tracking of employee progress in Kronos. We are seeking someone that comes from the Grocery/ Restaurant industry. 

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop program materials and learning objectives for all production departments on the store level.
    • Track and schedule all mandatory training related to production departments (ex. Food Handlers Certificates, Sanitation, etc.)
    • Develop new courses using instructional design techniques.
    • Manage course revisions by working with other subject matter experts.
    • Updates existing course materials to reflect changes in law, regulation, philosophy and practice.
    • Completes assigned Curriculum Design and Development projects.
    • Work with HRIS Administrator and training and development assistants to ensure proper data management and tracking of employees matriculating through training programs as well as generate progress reports for management.
    • Work directly with buyers and merchandisers to ensure production department training is meeting company’s expectations.
    • Visit stores to monitor progress of all production training programs.
    • Implement Train the Trainer programs for all production department trainers.
    • Develop and maintain Superior University Catalog (Print and Online)
    • Ensure that all employees you are responsible for take their meal and breaks.

    Job Requirements:

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, HR management, Training & Development, or related area is required. Qualified candidates should have 5 years of industry or related business experience in employee training and/or organizational development. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of the organization are a must. Requires travel to various store locations.

    Experience:

    • Requires at least 5 years of experience in training, teaching, and/or Curriculum Development.

    Knowledge:

    • Efficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Kronos or other HRIS software applications is preferred.

    Skills and Ability:

    • Ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments
    • Ability to develop program outlines and materials
    • Able to manage large groups of people in workshop or seminar settings
    • Maintain a positive relationship with co-workers and management
    • Able to motivate and supervise employees
    • Able to be a positive influence on employees
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Manage multiple projects
