    JOB TYPE: Full-Time. Sunday - Thrusday

    SALARY: $17.00 an hour.

    This position provides services to families involved with the child welfare system that are at risk for out-of-home placement due to abuse or neglect issues.  This position also provides services to youth who have been reunified with their family after being placed in corrections, residential treatment, foster care, or treatment foster care. Services include curfew checks, school monitoring, random drug testing, job hunting, and crisis intervention.  

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interview and evaluate clients to complete the intake process.
    • Analyze client situations, capabilities, and problems to determine services required to meet the treatment needs of the client.
    • Formulate, implement, evaluate and review client treatment plans.
    • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
    • Act as an on-call resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
    • Monitor compliance with conditions of aftercare plan by conducting up to daily curfew checks/home visits, random urine analysis, and assisting in an employment search.
    • Conduct face-to-face contact with families, per program standards, to ensure safety and cooperation with the safety plan.
    • Complete parenting with families per program protocol.
    • Monitor client school attendance by conducting daily attendance checks.
    • Report client behavior to courts and Kenosha County Department of Human Services and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Formulate units, monthly reports, eWISACWIS entries, and discharge summaries per program standards.
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws.  Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
    • Safely transport clients as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related fields. 
    • Position must keep current on information pertaining to client/family needs through seminars, training, media, text, and research.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • One year of experience in the field of direct service and/or case management is required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing work schedules.
    • Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Department of Human Services.
    • Must establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
    • Must maintain client confidentiality.
    • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
    • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically, and gender-sensitive services.
    • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
    • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.
    • Ability to self-motivate and remain on task.
    • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures as detailed in the personnel policy and procedure manual.
