  • Responsibilities

    Job Type: Full Time.

    Salary: 16.83 an hour.

    This position provides in-home services to parents/families and addresses such topics as parenting skills, behavior modification techniques, anger and stress management, basic life skills, and family budgeting skills. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Interview and evaluate families to complete the intake process.
    • Formulate, implement, evaluate and review family treatment plans.
    • Mentor families in accordance with their treatment plans. 
    • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations. 
    • Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to program clientele through individual, family, and group work.
    • Conduct home visits as per program standards.
    • Attend client court proceedings and provide updates on treatment progress, as required.
    • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
    • Provide thorough and accurate updates on clients and make appropriate recommendations in regular and special staffings.
    • Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with clients.
    • Report client progress to Department of Human Services and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Complete proper documentation and file information as outlined by programmatic procedures.
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws.  Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
    • Safely transport clients as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field. 
    • Position must keep current on information pertaining to client/family needs through seminars, trainings, media, text, and research.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

    • Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing work schedule.
    • Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Department of Human Services.
    • Must establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
    • Must maintain client confidentiality.
    • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
    • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically and gender sensitive services.
    • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
    • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.
    • Ability to self motivate and remain on task.
    • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures as detailed in the personnel policy and procedure manual.
