  • Responsibilities

    JOB TYPE: Full-Time

    SALARY: $16.00 an hour

    This position monitors compliance of youth detained in their own homes or other non-secure living arrangements who are referred from Juvenile Court or Kenosha County Department of Children and Family Services (KCDCFS)/Juvenile Court Intake (JCI).  

    KEY RESPONSILBITILES: 

    • Interview and evaluate families to complete the intake process.
    • De-escalate crisis situations with youth and families in an appropriate manner.
    • Monitor client compliance by conducting daily in-person home visits or school checks.
    • Report client behavior to Juvenile Court/KCDCFS /JCI in written behavioral summary.
    • Attend all court hearings as requested and file court summaries 72 hours in advance via eFiling through Wisconsin Circuit Court Access.
    • Conduct random urine analysis testing as required by court order.
    • Monitor school attendance, performance, and behavior and report on the behavioral summary.
    • Prepare behavioral summary for court appearances.
    • Complete units and discharge summaries per program standards.
    • Assist in set up and monitoring of youth referred for ELM services.
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws.  Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
    • Safely transport clients.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or another related field.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing work schedule.
    • Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Juvenile Court and the Department of Human Services.
    • Must establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
    • Must maintain client confidentiality.
    • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
    • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically, and gender-sensitive services.
    • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
    • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.
    • Ability to self-motivate and remain on task.
    • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures as detailed in the personnel policy and procedure manual.
