    JOB TYPE: Full Time

    SALARY: $16.35 an hour

    This position provides intensive treatment to severely delinquent youth and their families.  This position also monitors and supports youth, and assists in the follow through and success of each youth’s treatment.  Services include individual, group and family counseling, structured activities, curfew checks, crisis intervention, school support, assessment, and referral.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Interview and evaluate clients and families to complete intake process.
    • Analyze client situations, capabilities and problems to determine services required to meet treatment needs of client.
    • Formulate, implement, evaluate and review individual client treatment plans.
    • Formulate and facilitate treatment/educational group sessions for clients on a weekly basis.
    • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
    • Monitor client behavior by conducting in-person visits each work day.
    • Attend client/family court proceedings.
    • Report client behavior to courts and Kenosha County Department of Human Services and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Formulate units, monthly reports, and discharge summaries per program standards.
    • Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities on a weekly basis.
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws.  Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
    • Safely transport clients as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field.
    • Position must keep current on information pertaining to client/family needs through seminars, trainings, media, text, and research.
    • Must be CPR certified.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing work schedule.
    • Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Department of Human Services.
    • Must establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
    • Must maintain client confidentiality.
    • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
    • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically and gender sensitive services.
    • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
    • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.
    • Ability to self motivate and remain on task.
