  • Responsibilities

    JOB TYPE: Full-Time 

    This position provides employment readiness including job shadows, internship placements, task analysis, and systematic instruction, job preparation, and job development services to participants referred by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Complete all DVR required training prior to meeting with consumers.
    • Maintain regular contact with consumers o your caseload.
    • Meet with consumers in PSG offices, libraries, job centers, and community buildings to develop and participate in job search-related activities.
    • Assess employment readiness of individuals, determine barriers and needs for accommodations.
    • Provide job development and employment retention services for consumers.
    • Develop individual written reports per DVR Technical Specification, attach these via the DVR Service Provider Portal.
    • Report billing via email within the week completed.
    • Reach out to employers to present the DVR Programs and consumers with permission from consumers and when appropriate VRC.
    • Actively participate in consumer staffing/meetings with DVR Counselors.
    • Complete proper documentation on a timely basis as per program standards.
    • ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws. must have reliable transportation on a daily basis.
    • Any other job duties not listed.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related fields -preferred.
    • Work experience in job development or job center services - preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience working, communicating with diverse populations and people with disabilities - preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing daily work schedule.
    • Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Department of Human Services.
    • Establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
    • Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
    • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to present case information in staffings with the Department of Human Services.
    • Ability to use various electronic databases with updated client information and services.
    • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically and gender sensitive services.
    • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
    • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.
    • Ability to self motivate and remain on task.
    • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures as detailed in the personnel policy and procedure manual.
