    JOB TYPE: PART TIME

    SALARY: 15.00 AN HOUR 

    This position recruits and retains foster homes through various media strategies and community outreach.  This position is also responsible for conducting re-licensing studies for current foster homes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement recruitment plans, strategies and methods.
    • Place advertisements, press releases and other media to promote foster care licensing.
    • Promote foster care by participating in community events (i.e. booths and presentations).
    • Conduct comprehensive foster care re-licensing studies and evaluations and assure applicants are in compliance with DCF 56, including written reports with recommendations.
    • Utilize advanced knowledge to facilitate Foundation Training to foster parents, as needed.
    • Prepare, develop and facilitate elective trainings to foster parents, as needed.
    • Complete documentation on a timely basis per program standards.
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws.  Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or another related field.
    • Position must keep current on information pertaining to regulations and statutes through seminars, trainings, media, text, and research.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in foster care licensing and/or social media marketing preferred, but not required.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing work schedule.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Department of Human Services and foster parents.
    • Establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, the school district, and other community agencies.
    • Maintain client confidentiality.
    • Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
    • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Must possess public speaking skills.
    • Ability to deliver training and other presentations in front of groups clearly and effectively.
    • Ability to provide culturally, ethnically and gender sensitive services.
    • Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations.
    • Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions.
    • Ability to self motivate and remain on task.
    • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures as detailed in the personnel policy and procedure manual.
