SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT:
Professional Staffing Ventures is a boutique staffing firm specialized in the construction industry. Our client a premier General Contractor in Southern California, is seeking a highly motivated Project Accountant for their Inland Empire office. CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processing and auditing (e.g. coding, approvals, lien releases, declarations, preliminary notices, and insurance requirements) of all accounts payable invoices
- Processing of manual checks
- Responsible for all division cash disbursements, check stocks, and cash balances
- Responsible for meeting the timeliness in the monthly financial closing schedule
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages
- Assist in the preparation of financing requests of prospective and active communities
- Assist in the preparation of sales price releases of active communities
- Assist in the preparation of annual business plans and periodic updates as well as long-term planning (forecasts)
- Review and supervise the timely recording and deposit of all divisional cash receipts
- Perform all other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Five (2) years minimum work experience
- 2 years multifamily and/or single family construction experience required
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, Economics, etc. is Required
- Prior audit experience is highly desired
- Construction software experience desired (example - JD Edwards, etc.)
- B.S. degree in accounting or equivalent in work experience
- Strong accounting background
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheet and Microsoft Word
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical and writing skills required
- Understand and follow work rules and procedures
- Strong work ethic and integrity
