Job Title: Program Assistant
Reports to: Program Coordinator/Business Services Manager
ABOUT YOU:
Our senior living community needs a compassionate and highly organized Program Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be in charge of assisting program staff with food programs, activities programming both on and off site for over 200 residents. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who can be available for nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relay client concerns to the appropriate senior staff
- Review and submit documents to relevant staff members, residents, family members and other interested parties
- Notify residents of upcoming appointment as it relates to Community Engagement
- Assist with the operation of the new Food Pantry, LT Grocery Store, Commodity Food Program, and the Commercial Kitchen
- Assist in the distribution of monthly and weekly programming as assigned
- Assist with seasonal and holiday program and decoration
- Assist in scheduling resident programs and activities with the Lutheran Towers partners and vendors
- Assist with all resident outings and activities, as needed
- Motivate and encourage all residents to participate in daily programming
- Provide support to outside agencies, volunteers, and others as needed to facilitate programming
- Perform administrative requirements, including completing necessary forms, request, and reports
- Assist with the planning and execution of resident activities, both on-site and off-site, under the guidance of the Program Coordinator.
- Drive the Lutheran Towers shuttle bus to transport residents to scheduled activities such as grocery shopping, seasonal outings, and wellness events. (Flexible schedule required)
- Maintain the bus with weekly interior/exterior cleanings and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
- Provide transportation to some weekend/night trips for residents.
- Assist in the setup and support of food program initiatives aligned with the Eight Dimensions of Wellness.
- Participate in the execution of food programs, including preparation, distribution, and cleanup.
- Support other duties and projects as assigned by the Program Coordinator and Business Services Manager.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
- High school graduation and five years of related experience involving progressive responsible duties requiring discretion and independent judgment or Associate's Degree and three years of related experience or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to five years.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Ability to lift and move items up to 40 lbs
- Ability to perform computer work and keyboarding duties as specified by hiring department/unit.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
- Understanding of programming terminology and familiarity with computer‑based procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.

- College graduation.
- Completion of courses in related subjects at the college/university level.
- Experience working with older adults is a plus
