    Vitra Health is hiring , and we believe that our team is the key to our success! We are looking for a Program Assistant to join our team, in our Adult Day Health Center in Brockton.

    The Program Assistant will support Vitra's Adult Day Health (ADH) center in Brockton, MA. This is a daily care facility designed to meet the physical, functional, and social needs of seniors or individuals with disabilities, including those with complex medical or rehabilitative needs.

    Essential Functions:

    • Assist Adult Day Health care members in personal care activities such as hygiene, grooming, dressing and personal care as needed.
    • Assist members in the practice of safety and good nutrition when is possible.
    • Adhere to the documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
    • Observe the patients for changes in general physical and mental conditions.
    • Report any changes noted to the Adult Day RN.
    • Assist and supervise activities of daily living.
    • Assist with all the activities programs including arts, crafts and other small group activities under the direction of the Activity Director and/or Program Director.
    • Assist with trips and other community outings outside the program.
    • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and other relevant training.
    • Prepare, serve and clean up before and after meals.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Active Massachusetts' CNA certification or HHA certification
    • Previous experience in nursing home strongly preferred.
    • Ability to read and follow written instructions and documents.
    • Has empathy for the needs of the clients.
    • CPR certification or willing to obtain.
    • One or more years of experience working with adults in a healthcare or social service setting.

    Physical and Environmental Demands:

    • Works in a clean well-lit environment with fluctuating temperatures in close proximity to others.
    • Requires substantial periods of repetitive work utilizing a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
    • Requires lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds; requires pushing and pulling equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds; requires walking and standing; requires frequent sitting more than 75% of the workday; requires the ability to negotiate stairs; requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate equipment.
