Required:
• Bachelor’s degree is required.

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in public health or social work
• Previous HIV/syphilis, public health, maternal child health, social work, hospital-based or community-based experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Operates as initial responder for Hotline and Warmline calls. Fulfills on-call responsibility by carrying mobile phone during business hours.
• Triages all calls determining medical consultation needs and providing referrals to medical care and case management.
• Obtains accurate medical histories to ensure all appropriate medical recommendations are provided to outside institutions consulting with the Hotline and Warmline.
• Conducts follow-up of all perinatal HIV calls including verification of medical treatment and linkages to prenatal and postpartum care.
• Responds to calls pertaining to questions about perinatal HIV and perinatal syphilis testing laws and reporting requirements in Illinois.
• Provides appropriate documentation of activities for all Hotline and Warmline calls.
• Enters up-to-date information in program database for all Hotline and Warmline calls.
• Collects longitudinal follow-up data on Hotline calls up to 6 months postpartum.
• Maintains annual updates of statewide resources for medical care and case management for pregnant people with HIV and syphilis for every county in Illinois.
• Ensures annual updates to inventory of HIV and syphilis testing pathway information.
• Provides education and/or educational materials about HIV, syphilis, obstetrics, and other issues as identified or desired to community partners and contacts.
• Fosters medical and social service relationships for the Hotline and Warmline and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies and individuals throughout the state of Illinois.
• Supports the planning and organization of annual perinatal HIV and syphilis meetings.
• Develops monthly on-call schedules and yearly coverage schedules for program team.
