ABOUT THE ROLE: The Program Director will serve as a key leader in overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs at Changing Perceptions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Program Director will manage staff, monitor program performance, foster strategic partnerships, and ensure that our services are responsive to the needs of justice-impacted individuals. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality service delivery and measurable outcomes that align with our mission.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As the Program Director, you will:
Program Design & Development Leading the creation, implementation, and evaluation of programs that address the unique needs of justice-impacted individuals. This includes researching best practices, tailoring programs to community needs, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Participant Engagement Developing and executing strategies to recruit, retain, and empower participants by fostering a sense of belonging and support. This involves outreach, individualized support plans, and removing systemic barriers that hinder access to services.
Staff Supervision Managing and developing a team of program staff, mentors, and facilitators to ensure the effective delivery of services. This includes onboarding, training, and performance oversight, as well as creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Data-Driven Decision Making Collecting and analyzing data to measure program effectiveness, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions. This includes tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), soliciting participant feedback, and adjusting strategies based on measurable insights.
Partnership Development Establishing and maintaining relationships with community organizations, employers, and key stakeholders to enhance program offerings to create additional support structures, employment pathways, and access to resources that expand opportunities for justice-impacted individuals.
Crisis Intervention & Support Providing crisis management and direct support to participants facing urgent challenges, including housing instability, mental health concerns, and financial hardships. This includes making referrals to case management services, social workers, and legal resources, ensuring participants receive the holistic support they need.
Advocacy & Awareness Promoting justice reform and raising awareness about the challenges and opportunities for justice-impacted individuals. This involves community engagement, speaking at events, participating in policy discussions, and using program initiatives to drive systemic change.
Reporting & Compliance Preparing and submitting reports to funders, stakeholders, and internal leadership to demonstrate program impact, financial accountability, and compliance with grant requirements. This includes compiling data, summarizing key findings, and ensuring that reporting aligns with funding obligations and organizational transparency standards.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Changing Perceptions may be the right fit for you if:
You have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR an associate degree with four years of work experience in developing quality programs, program management, and supervision.
You have the ability to organize, direct, and coordinate programmatic operations.
You possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
You have the ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems with minimal supervision.
You have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
You possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
You are proficient in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
