    Job Description

    Are you a rising student with a passion for data and a desire to build the future of a data engineering organization from the ground up? Pilot Company is seeking a Data Engineering Intern for the summer of 2026. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a key initiative in how Pilot's Supply team optimizes its buying goals by designing, building, and testing data pipelines.

    In this role, you will be an integral part of our team, tackling key responsibilities that will help us modernize our processes and challenge the status quo. Your fresh perspective will be key to helping us innovate and bring ideas that are being discussed in the academic world. You'll gain valuable experience in data integration, cloud technologies, and efficiently processing large amounts of data.

    What You’ll Do

    Your responsibilities may include:

    • Building Data Pipelines: Assist experienced data engineers in designing, building, and testing data pipelines that ingest data from third-party sources and other enterprise systems.
    • Data Processing: Use programming languages like Python, SQL, and Rust to process and transform large amounts of data.
    • Data Analysis: Analyze existing data, including values and data types, to ensure accuracy and integrity.
    • Querying Data: Use tools like SQL to query data and gain valuable insights.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Education: You should be a rising student, a master's student, or a committed sophomore or junior pursuing a major in Business Analytics, Software Engineering, or Applied Mathematics/Statistics.
    • Technical Skills: Experience with Python, SQL, and Rust is a plus.
    • Soft Skills: You must be intellectually curious and motivated to learn and develop. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are crucial for collaborating within a team setting.
    • Experience: Any involvement in business analytics, software engineering, automation, or robotics clubs is a plus.
    • Qualities: We value individuals who are driven, reliable, authentic, and welcoming.

    Additional Information

    This is a full-time, in-person internship, running from June 1 through August 6, 2026.

    The interview process for this position will include a 30-minute screening with a recruiter, followed by a 30-minute interviews with two leaders of the team.
