SG2 Recruiting is partnering with AIMC, seeking a Program Manager – Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Space Systems Command (SSC), MilComm & PNT (SSC/CG) Directorate, with a broad range of acquisition capabilities. The SSC/CG Directorate is responsible for the planning, acquisition, and sustainment of space-enabled Military Communications and Positioning, Navigation & Timing (MilComm & PNT) capabilities for National and Joint Force Operations.
The Program Manager – SME will assist the government with actionable information, advice, analysis, and recommendations to enhance acquisition efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline lifecycle management of space-related systems. This position will help standardize best practices, reduce cycle times, and ensure effective, integrated program management across research, development, production, operations, and sustainment phases.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Supporting integrated program management of space-related research, development, production, operations, maintenance, and lifecycle acquisition activities.
- Providing analytical, strategic, and acquisition support to optimize the SSC/CG Directorate’s mission effectiveness.
- Ensuring proper analysis and integration of program technical acquisition artifacts at the enterprise level.
- Managing, documenting, and maintaining functional databases to support mission requirements and acquisition strategies.
- Supporting all phases of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process to facilitate effective program management.
- Preparing acquisition reporting materials such as executive summaries, milestone status updates, and program health assessments.
- Leading research and analytical efforts to ensure comprehensive deliverables and alignment with analysis milestone plans.
- Advising on the release of SSC/CG program information to external stakeholders, including industry, media, and international partners.
- Providing training to Government personnel on DoD Acquisition policies and procedures, including Cost, EVM, Scheduling, Budget, and POM.
- Preparing and completing acquisition documentation and recommending improvements to streamline acquisition processes.
- Analyzing portfolio acquisitions, manpower, and funding to maintain accurate acquisition forecasts and identify resource gaps.
- Supporting strategic planning by providing technical, engineering, and acquisition input to align with Directorate and USSF strategic goals.
- Managing task distribution and coordination among organizations, tracking task status, metrics, and deliverable quality.
What You Will Need (Required):
- Minimum Secret Security Clearance up to a TS/SCI
- 8+ to 10 years of demonstrated relevant experience in program management or defense acquisition.
- Strong understanding of MilComm & PNT satellite and ground systems.
- Proven ability to assess technical documentation, acquisition strategies, risk management, and integration approaches.
- Demonstrated experience briefing senior leaders and preparing reports for executive decision-making.
- Capability to support long-range strategic planning, resource alignment, and schedule management.
It's A Plus If You Have This (Desired Qualifications):
- Master's Degree
- PMP certification.
- 8+ years of experience managing aerospace programs in defense acquisition, ideally within DoD, Space Force, or Air Force.
- Technical and analytic understanding of MilComm & PNT satellite and ground systems.
- Skilled in leading cross-functional teams across personnel, contracting, and finance.
