Program Support Intern (PSI) (Seasonal, Part-time 12 -15 hours per week) Unpaid Internship
College Mentoring Experience is a Chicago non-profit organization that provides resources to help youth enter into college and graduate via college tours, scholarships, tutoring and mentorship; we prepare students with academic and soft skills needed to succeed in the 21st century academic and workplace environments. Internship Overview
We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Seasonal Summer Program Support Intern (June 2025 – Mid-August 2025). This unpaid internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, administrative support, and youth development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with general office duties, including filing, data entry, and document preparation
Manage and update organizational databases and contact lists
Support the planning and execution of youth development programs and events
Create and edit documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Collaborate with staff to maintain and update SharePoint resources
Monitor and contribute to the organization's social media platforms
Communicate effectively with team members, volunteers, and program participants
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Current enrollment in a college or university program (preferably in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Education, Human Services, or a related field)
Strong interest in nonprofit operations, youth development, and community-based programming
Ability to assist with administrative support, including data entry, document creation, scheduling, and digital file management
Experience working with inner-city youth and youth development programs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and SharePoint
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
Strong understanding of social media platforms and strategies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Availability to commit 12–15 hours per week throughout the internship period (June–August)
