    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

They are seeking a meticulous, self-driven Project Accountant to join their regional division in Charlotte.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Project Accountant plays a critical operational role in managing revenue recognition, job billing, receivables, and job-costing reconciliation. Working closely with both corporate accounting and field production teams, this individual ensures accurate project invoicing, maintains positive customer cash flow, and supports overall project margin tracking.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Billing & Revenue Operations
    • Post and reconcile project revenues, ensuring accurate data entry across active contracts.

    • Maintain detailed daily and weekly project billing logs to support continuous cash flow.

    • Partner directly with field leadership to streamline site progress invoicing and eliminate billing delays.

    • Handle customer billing inquiries and resolve account discrepancies in a timely, professional manner.

    Collections & Cash Flow Management
    • Monitor aging accounts receivables and lead proactive outreach regarding past-due invoices and open purchase orders.

    • Prepare routine A/R collection reports and assist leadership with monthly revenue forecasting.

    Job Costing & Material Support
    • Assist project teams with job profitability analysis and material estimation comparisons.

    • Track inventory levels for bulk materials and coordinate necessary purchasing logistics.

    • Execute ad-hoc financial analysis and special operational projects as requested by leadership.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Experience: 2+ years of background in project accounting, accounts receivable, or job-cost accounting within the construction, sub-trade, or real estate sectors.

    • Systems Proficiency: Strong software aptitude; experience with QuickBooks or similar mid-tier accounting/ERP systems preferred.
