    A growing Kansas City architecture firm seeks an experienced Project Architect to lead commercial, K-12 educational facility, civic, and multifamily projects. This Project Architect will drive design excellence from concept through completion while serving as primary client contact and mentor to junior team members.

    Key Responsibilities — Project Architect

    • Lead design process for commercial, K-12 educational, civic, and multifamily projects from concept through construction completion ensuring compliance with state and federal standards
    • Serve as primary contact for clients, school administrators, and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and build long-term relationships
    • Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and construction professionals to ensure seamless project integration and address design and technical challenges
    • Develop and oversee construction documentation using Revit and AutoCAD to ensure accuracy and adherence to budget, timelines, and regulatory requirements
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and support staff fostering a collaborative team environment

    Qualifications — Project Architect

    • Minimum 4 years professional experience in architecture with focus on commercial, educational, civic, or multifamily projects
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from accredited institution
    • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD architectural design software
    • In-depth understanding of design standards including safety, accessibility, and environmental considerations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders

    Preferred Qualifications — Licensed Architect

    • Licensed Architect in Kansas, Missouri, or Oklahoma (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
    • Experience with K-12 educational facility design and school district coordination
    • Knowledge of civic and multifamily project delivery methods
    • Project management experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
    • Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED principles

    Physical Requirements — Project Architect

    • Office-based work with computer use for design software and documentation
    • Occasional site visits requiring walking, standing, and navigating construction sites
    • Ability to attend client meetings and presentations in Kansas City metro area
    • Standard business hours Monday-Friday with flexibility for project deadlines
