    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a highly motivated project civil/water resources engineer to support mine tailings storage facility and heavy civil infrastructure design and analysis as part of the Mining group in Denver Colorado in the planning, analysis and design phases of projects.

    Job Summary/ Responsibilities :

    • Provides project leadership in the areas of design, investigation, analysis, and construction of water management systems for Mine Waste (Tailings) Storage Facilities and multi-disciplinary mining projects
    • Provide directions to and mentoring to other technical staff and serve as technical advisor and reviewer for the project team.
    • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
    • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
    • Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work including quality control review of design calculations, 3D models and drawings.
    • Prepares technical specification sections.
    • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
    • Develop reports in Microsoft Word to communicate the technical results of these calculations or design packages, including summaries, figures, tables, methodologies, and explanations.
    • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
    • Provides engineering guidance and oversight to staff level engineers and designers.

    Min Requirements

    • BA/BS + 6 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
    • PE Certification
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE in these states
    • Master’s OR PhD in Civil Engineering or related field of study
    • 8+ years or more of relevant experience
    • MSHA Miner training
    • Demonstrated progressive experience in stormwater evaluation and design (e.g., hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design), construction monitoring and operations
    • Progressive project experience including task leadership on design and design-bid-build projects.
    • Knowledge of standard hydrologic and hydraulic software programs (e.g., HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS) and evaluations.
