    POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

    This leadership role includes managing the accounting team, optimizing financial controls, and ensuring compliance with company-wide financial strategies. Additionally, this position plays a key role in talent development, fostering a high-performing team while supporting operational efficiency.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead all aspects of business unit accounting, ensuring timely and accurate monthly close processes and management reporting within an integrated business system.

    • Oversee forecasting for WIP, revenue, expenses, and financial performance indicators.

    • Participate in contract reviews, project setup, billing processes, and client meetings as needed.

    • Manage a team of approximately 30 project accountants, focusing on hiring, retention, mentorship, and performance management in collaboration with HR and operational leadership.

    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives, working closely with senior leadership to execute initiatives effectively.

    • Assess, recommend, and implement improvements to internal financial controls and accounting procedures.

    • Lead the annual budget and monthly forecasting process, consolidating financial data to support strategic planning.

    • Work closely with treasury operations to manage cash flow, collections, and payment processes.

    • Identify and drive process improvements and best practices within the accounting function.

    • Support special financial projects and initiatives as directed by senior leadership.

    • Supervise and review complex journal entries and financial reports, ensuring accuracy in balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    • Coordinate year-end financial reporting and external audits for the business unit.

    • Perform additional duties as required.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

    • Strong background in project accounting preferred.

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

    • Experience in job cost and revenue recognition accounting within the construction industry.

    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong analytical and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

    • Hands-on experience with integrated accounting software.

    • Experience with Procore construction software is a plus but not required.
