Black and McDonald, is actively seeking a Project Controls Specialist with a strong background in Data Analysis, Computer Software, or Engineering to join our Engineering Services team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about leveraging technology to drive project and department success.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE

• Report directly to Department Manager of Costing and Scheduling for all engineering offices

• Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules, cost forecasts, and performance metrics

• Utilize data analytics tools to support project planning, risk management, and decision making

• Collaborate with Department Managers, Project Managers, and administrative staff to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting

• Automate and streamline input and reporting processes using Office 365 tools (Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint)

• Support the implementation and optimization of financial and project control systems and software

• Prepare dashboards and visualizations to communicate project performance to stakeholders

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in Project Controls, Data Analysis, or a similar role

• Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel (advanced), Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint

• Proficiency in software architecture principles and programming languages relevant to data analysis and automation (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA)

• Experience with Project Management and Financial Software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, JD Edwards) is an asset

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
