Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Controls Specialist with experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to support planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress tracking for industrial projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring E&I scopes are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining visibility into project performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project schedules for E&I scope using scheduling software
Track and analyze project progress, productivity, and performance metrics
Monitor costs, budgets, forecasts, and earned value for E&I activities
Prepare regular reports on schedule status, cost variance, and risk analysis
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment
Support change management processes, including change orders and impact analysis
Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation and recovery plans
Assist with resource planning, including labor, materials, and equipment forecasting
Validate field progress and ensure accurate reporting of installed quantities
Support project closeout, including documentation and final cost reporting
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in project controls, planning, or cost control in industrial or construction projects
Experience supporting Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) scopes
Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and earned value management (EVM)
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schedules, and project documentation
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Power Generation, Chemical, Data Centers and Renewables.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
PMI-SP, PMP, or AACE certifications (e.g., CCP, PSP)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday
Position based out of The Woodlands, TX office.
Availability for overtime.
