CAFCO Group, a construction management and MWBE-certified firm, is seeking two Project Controls Specialists to support the Port Authority of NY & NJ’s Project Management Office (PMO). This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects, providing critical project controls, scheduling, and performance reporting for major capital programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about driving project success in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a technical field; or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with a technical degree.
1–3 years of progressively responsible experience in project controls.
At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with Primavera (P6).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn Port Authority systems.
Strong understanding of project control concepts, cost control/reporting, project scheduling, and variance analysis.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Must obtain SWAC I.D. and security clearances upon hire.
Key Responsibilities
Perform project controls functions including scheduling, cost control, and project management services.
Support PMO project delivery initiatives and provide project control services to line departments.
Analyze data from integrated project control and reporting systems.
Recommend and implement improvements to procedures and reporting systems.
Prepare project control reports and presentations.
Deliver training support for new staff.
Maintain and update project schedules in Oracle Primavera (v21+).
Develop project schedules in collaboration with stakeholders and project managers.
Review project status, enter/maintain project/activity codes, and provide milestone look-ahead reports.
Conduct cost/schedule variance analysis and performance reporting.
Develop monthly status reports, support dashboard maintenance, and provide timely performance measurement reports.
Work Environment
Hybrid work model based at the World Trade Center, NYC, with travel to other Port Authority facilities as needed.
