    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Project Coordinator assists in the daily execution of the Press Forward San Antonio initiative, managing multiple projects related to capacity building and implementing key program elements. This position leads implementation coordination and provides ongoing coaching with designated partners, requiring a broad range of administrative, relationship management, and program management skills. This position will also focus on building and sustaining relationships with rural communities to ensure inclusive participation in Press Forward initiatives. It supports the growth and development of the Foundation's membership program. This position is currently funded through a three-year grant. Continuation beyond the initial grant period may be possible based on funding and organizational needs.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • In collaboration with LRC SPO coordinate implementation of Press Forward activities including convenings, capacity building initiatives, and collaborative projects, ensuring alignment with local and national Press Forward priorities.
    • In partnership with LRC SPO manage logistics for convenings and events, including scheduling, venue coordination, materials preparation, registration management, and follow-up activities.
    • Provide coaching and technical assistance to partners on strategies for local news sustainability, audience engagement, community engagement, and inclusive storytelling practices.
    • Build and maintain relationships with Press Forward partners and stakeholders, demonstrating the Foundation's commitment to trust-based partnerships and community engagement through regular communication and responsiveness.
    • In coordination with LRC SPO develop strategies and outreach efforts to engage rural communities in Press Forward activities, ensuring their unique needs and perspectives are represented.
    • Support data collection and impact measurement including coordinating with research partners, tracking program metrics, managing evaluation tools, and maintaining accurate records of program activities and outcomes.
    • Assist with development of resource materials and communication tools that advance Press Forward priorities.
    • Represent the Foundation in community meetings, presentations, convenings, and committees related to news and journalism, sharing Press Forward work and building connections with partners and stakeholders.
    • Support the growth and development of the Foundation's membership program by assisting with member communications, coordinating membership benefits for aging services organizations, and tracking member engagement in Press Forward-related activities.
    • Maintain Press Forward program systems including partner databases, project tracking tools, calendar management, and documentation of program activities and learnings.
    • Actively participate in Collaborative Business Planning (CBP) by working across departments, maintaining accurate project information in Monday.com, and supporting organization-wide priorities through timely collaboration and shared accountability.
    • Demonstrate strong attention to implementation processes and procedures while maintaining flexibility and adaptability in response to program needs and opportunities.
    • Support fundraising and donor engagement for Press Forward San Antonio, including proposal writing and stewardship.
    • Actively participate in Collaborative Business Planning (CBP) by working across departments, maintaining accurate project information in Monday.com, and supporting organization-wide priorities through timely collaboration and shared accountability.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advance degree preferred in journalism, communications, public policy, or related field.
    • Minimum 5-7 years of program coordination or project management experience, preferably in nonprofit, journalism, or media sectors.
    • Experience with event coordination and partner management preferred.
    • Experience working with rural communities or understanding rural issues preferred.
    • Familiarity with South Central Texas local media landscape strongly preferred.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, track details, and meet deadlines consistently.
    • Demonstrated commitment to voice and representation for the diversity of our communities.

    • Excellent relationship building and communication skills with ability to work effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders.

    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Hybrid work environment with regular in-office work, community meetings, and occasional evening or weekend events.
    • Standard office environment with computer-based work; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Local and regional travel required for partner meetings, site visits, and event coordination.
