Project Cost Analyst

Location: Detroit, MI / Hybrid

Vital Tech Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Project Cost Analyst with strong accounting expertise to support financial tracking and forecasting for projects (not products). The ideal candidate will have experience managing project-level financials with a focus on forecasting, variance analysis, and accruals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience, with a focus on project support (not product or manufacturing accounting).
• Strong background in forecasting, variance analysis, and managing accruals (estimating/recording costs, gathering data on pending costs, manual journal entries, etc)
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems or ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Experience working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting project scopes.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in industries like construction, infrastructure, or IT project delivery.
• Familiarity with project management tools or software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera).
