    POSITION PURPOSE


    The Project Engineer provides engineering for the day-to-day activities associated with the assigned construction projects.

    Essential Job Functions

    Estimating: Understanding ACE’s estimating methods and reports, attending turnover meetings, and collecting multiple bids for each project scope. Assisting in the development of detailed estimates for project change orders in collaboration with the estimating team and completing a rotation to gain familiarity with ACE’s estimating procedures.

    Preconstruction: Attending turnover meetings, performing preconstruction duties assigned by the Preconstruction Manager, reviewing and understanding administrative paperwork, and completing purchasing assignments as needed.

    Project Management: Reviewing technical submittals and shop drawings, conducting quality control checks on materials and submittals, updating and developing project schedules, and ensuring the workforce has the proper materials, tools, and equipment. Reviewing and understanding contract plans, communicating with the superintendent and foremen to address potential issues, drafting RFIs, and ensuring subcontractor performance. Tracking deliveries, reviewing and approving invoices, and understanding the project budget, labor reports, and cost code systems. Assisting with change order pricing, negotiating with vendors, and managing purchase orders and subcontracts. Must maintain project records, coordinating deliveries, conducting safety audits, and preparing work packs for major labor activities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with three (3) years of related experience preferably in the construction industry; or seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
