    Project Engineer

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Project Engineer to support and manage field operations across active construction projects. This role is central to project execution and success. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and right the first time.

    The Project Engineer acts as the operational bridge between planning and execution, making sure the field team has the materials, information, subcontractor coordination, and support needed to keep work moving on schedule and aligned with client goals.

    What You’ll Do

    • Support day-to-day field operations, including scheduling, logistics, delivery coordination, quality control, and trade performance
    • Coordinate work across multiple subcontractors to ensure smooth, efficient project execution
    • Resolve field issues related to design clarifications, sequencing, labor, equipment, and schedule conflicts
    • Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with company standards and all applicable safety regulations
    • Manage relationships with local authorities and oversee inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
    • Assist in developing project schedules, work sequencing, and recovery plans when schedules are at risk
    • Lead weekly coordination, scheduling, and last planner meetings with key subcontractors
    • Communicate directly with owners and architects/engineers to investigate and resolve field-related issues
    • Track work in place and support billing, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications
    • Ensure construction work aligns with approved contract documents and quality standards
    • Support the Project Manager with budget tracking, project financials, and accurate forecasting of work to complete
    • Mentor and support Assistant Superintendents and field staff, including participation in performance reviews

    What We’re Looking For

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
    • 1-15 years of relevant construction or field operations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal teams
    • Proven written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling or management software
    • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
